Quick Start

Get Recoger set up and monitoring your first device in under 5 minutes.

1. Create Your Account

Sign up at app.recoger.app with your work email. You'll create a new organization during signup, or join an existing one if you've been invited.

The free tier includes up to 10 users and 20 manually-tracked devices—plenty to get started.

2. Install an Agent

To automatically collect device compliance data, install the Recoger agent on your devices. Download the appropriate agent from the dashboard:

Platform Requirements Status
macOS macOS 13 (Ventura) or later Available
Windows Windows 10/11 Coming soon
Linux Ubuntu 22.04+, Debian 12+ Coming soon
iOS iOS 16 or later Coming soon
Android Android 12 or later Coming soon

macOS Installation

  1. Download the Recoger agent from your dashboard
  2. Open the .dmg file and drag Recoger to Applications
  3. Launch Recoger and sign in with your account
  4. Grant the requested permissions (Full Disk Access is required for encryption checks)

The agent runs quietly in the background and checks in periodically to report device status.

3. Add Your First Service

While agents handle device monitoring automatically, you'll track cloud services manually. This is intentional—it encourages regular security reviews of your third-party tools.

  1. Navigate to Services in the dashboard
  2. Click Add Service
  3. Enter the service details (name, category, owner)
  4. Complete the security questionnaire
  5. Set a review schedule (we recommend quarterly)

4. Invite Your Team

Recoger works best when everyone's devices are monitored. Invite team members from Settings → Team.

Each user can install the agent on their own devices after accepting the invitation.

5. Generate Your First Report

Once you have some devices and services tracked, generate a compliance report:

  1. Go to Reports in the dashboard
  2. Select your target framework (ISO 27001, SOC 2, etc.)
  3. Click Generate Report

The report shows your compliance coverage, any gaps, and evidence collected from your devices and services.
